1 Overview

Nüron is developed and operated by Anugerah Christian Rompis. This policy governs the data collection practices of the app across Android and web platforms

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Nüron, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By using Nüron — whether through the Android app, the web app, or the landing site — you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2 Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account & Identity

• Email address — used to create and identify your account, and for authentication.
• Display name (optional) — if you provide one during sign-up or alpha registration.

App Content You Create

• Tasks & Reminders — the titles, notes, due dates, recurrence rules, and completion status of items you create in the app.
• Saved Places — location labels or place names you save for use with location-based reminders. We store the labels you enter, not live device location data.

Voice & Audio

• The Android app requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission to support voice input for creating tasks. Audio is processed on-device or transmitted to an AI service (see Section 4) solely to transcribe your spoken input. Raw audio recordings are not stored by us.

Alpha / Waitlist Registration

• If you sign up on the landing site, we collect your email address and optionally your name. We also collect a reCAPTCHA score to prevent automated submissions (see Section 4).

Usage & Technical Data

• Device and session information — such as your device type, operating system version, and app version, collected automatically by Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics (if enabled).
• Log data — error logs and cloud function invocation logs generated by Firebase, used for debugging and reliability.
• On-device debug log — the app maintains a local debug log on your device that may include technical events and, where location features are active, your device's geographic coordinates. This log is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us automatically. It may reach us solely if you choose to manually share it — for example, by sending a screenshot or copying and pasting its contents when reporting a bug.

3 How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing the service — syncing your tasks, reminders, and saved places across your devices via Firebase Firestore.
• Authentication — verifying your identity so only you can access your data.
• AI-powered features — processing your prompts (including voice input transcriptions) through Google's Gemini AI to classify tasks, extract time triggers, and identify location categories. Your prompt text is sent to Google's AI infrastructure for this purpose.
• Push notifications — sending you timely reminder notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Security & abuse prevention — using reCAPTCHA scores to block automated submissions on the landing page.
• Debugging & improving the app — reviewing error logs and crash reports to fix bugs and improve reliability.
• Communicating with you — sending important service-related emails (e.g., account changes, alpha tester updates) to your registered email address.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving Nüron.

4 Third-Party Services

Nüron is built on third-party infrastructure. Some of your data is processed by these providers as a necessary part of delivering the service. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

5 Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:

• Account & app content — retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
• Waitlist registrations — retained until the alpha/beta program concludes or you request removal.
• Server logs — Firebase automatically retains cloud function logs for a limited period (typically 30 days) as governed by Google Cloud's log retention policies.
• Deleted tasks or reminders — removed from Firestore upon deletion in the app. They are not archived or retained by us.

6 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Deletion — request that your account and associated data be permanently deleted.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format where technically feasible.
• Objection / Restriction — object to or request restriction of certain processing activities.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7 Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. These include:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS.
• Firebase Authentication manages credential storage and sessions securely.
• Firestore security rules restrict read/write access so that you can only access your own data.
• Cloud Functions enforce authentication before processing any sensitive requests.

No system is completely secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please contact us immediately. If a data breach occurs that materially affects your data, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable.

8 Children's Privacy

Nüron is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new features, integrate new third-party services, or when applicable law requires it.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Minor clarifications or corrections may be made without notice.

Continued use of Nüron after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
